The
Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, on behalf of
Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and Local Government Authorities
(LGAs), invites applications from qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill
678 vacant positions as outlined in this announcement.
1.0
LIVESTOCK OFFICER GRADE II – 39 Positions
1.1 DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Develop
livestock production plans at the district level.
ii. Coordinate livestock production in small and large-scale farms.
iii. Assist in coordinating extension programs related to livestock production
at the district level.
iv. Coordinate and conduct training on best livestock farming practices and
processing of livestock products for professionals and farmers.
v. Conduct reviews and revisions of livestock marketing infrastructure in the
district and region.
vi. Develop, initiate, and implement livestock development projects at the
district level.
vii. Conduct resource surveys (e.g., livestock, animal feed, pastures, etc.) in
the assigned area.
viii. Conduct training for agents, traders, and professionals on safe methods
for handling and distributing livestock inputs.
ix. Research new areas suitable for various types of livestock farming.
x. Assess environmental degradation resulting from livestock farming in the
district.
xi. Participate in controlling disease outbreaks and harmful organisms
affecting pastures.
xii. Monitor, compile, analyze, and interpret livestock production data.
xiii. Prepare comprehensive reports on livestock development.
xiv. Perform any other duties related to the profession as assigned by the
supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANTS
Candidates
must hold a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science or Agriculture with a
specialization in Animal Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture, or an
equivalent qualification from another institution recognized by the Government.
