The
Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, on behalf of
Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and Local Government Authorities
(LGAs), invites applications from qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill
678 vacant positions as outlined in this announcement.
1.0
ASSISTANT ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER GRADE II – 26 Positions
1.1
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Control
and prevent disease outbreaks.
ii. Combat and prevent disease vectors (insects and animals).
iii. Supervise the burial of unidentified bodies and those resulting from
communicable diseases.
iv. Prepare various Environmental Health reports at the ward level and submit
them to relevant authorities.
v. Collect and analyze Environmental Health data at the ward level and provide
feedback for appropriate action.
vi. Provide environmental health education to the community.
vii. Inspect environments where food is prepared to ensure public health and
safety.
viii. Enforce environmental health laws at the ward level and assist the
community in developing local by-laws.
ix. Mobilize the community to improve water sources and environmental
sanitation.
x. Mobilize the community regarding the implementation of Primary Health
Services at the ward level.
xi. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor, related to the
applicant's education, experience, and skills.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANTS
Candidates
must hold a Diploma in Environmental Health Science from an institution
recognized by the Government and be registered with the Environmental Health
Practitioners Board.
