Read
the following passage carefully and then answer the questions (i) – (v) by
writing the answers in the space provided.
There
was a new student in Mr. Mgangas' class. Her name was Emily, and she had just
moved to the town. On her first day, she was very nervous. She had trouble
finding her seat and was unsure about speaking to anyone. However, her
classmate, Ben, noticed her struggle. He smiled at her and said, “Don’t worry;
I’ll help you find your seat.” Emily smiled back and followed him to the seat
next to his. During lunch, Emily sat alone. Ben saw her again and invited her
to sit with him. “It’s always nice to have someone new around,” he said. Emily
felt relieved. As the days went by, she made more friends. Everyone was kind to
her, and she soon became part of the class. Mr. Mganga noticed how friendly and
welcoming the class had been to Emily and praised them for their kindness.
“Remember,” Mr.Mganga, said, “It’s important to make others feel welcome, just
like Ben did for Emily.
