10. (a) A physics student conducts an experiment using a
simple pendulum to find the value of acceleration due to gravity, g. Describe
the experiment. In your description include. List the materials and apparatus
needed and write the formula used to find the value of acceleration due to
gravity, g. (4 Marks)
(b) Starting from rest a car accelerate with a speed of 35
m/s for 8 seconds and then maintain a constant speed for 12 seconds and then
accelerate with an acceleration of 5 m/s2 for 18 seconds, finally brought to
rest for 9 seconds.
(i) Draw a velocity-time graph for the bus using the data
above. Label both axes and all stages clearly. (3 Marks)
(ii) Calculate the total distance travels for the whole journey. (3 Marks)
(iii) During calculation above it was concluded that area covered is equal to
total distance covered and its well known the SI Unit of area is m2. Why did we
write the SI Unit of area is equal to the SI Unit of distance covered. (2
Marks)
(c) Write three equations of linear motion under gravity
when an object is thrown vertically upward. (3 Marks)
